Everything the homepage summary didn't have room for.
The short version lives on the homepage. This is the one with room to breathe: how I actually got here, what I care about when I'm working, and the parts of my life that aren't on a CV but explain a lot about how I approach one.

How I got here
I picked up a pencil before I picked up much else. Growing up in Rio de Janeiro, drawing was the constant, the thing I did instead of a lot of other things kids are supposed to do. It turned into graphic design almost by accident: someone needed a flyer, then a logo, then a whole identity, and I realised I liked the problem-solving as much as the drawing.
Code came later, and not gently. I taught myself HTML and CSS because I was tired of handing off beautiful comps and watching them get built wrong. Once I could build my own designs, I couldn't really go back: half-finished thinking stopped being an option, because I was the one who had to make it actually work in a browser.
Portugal happened in the middle of all that. I moved to Lisbon and kept doing the same thing in a new market: design systems, product UI, branding, teaching. Sixteen years in now, across two countries, and the throughline has stayed the same: I like being the person who can sit in a room with a stakeholder, sketch the idea, and then go build it myself.
How I work
I don't believe in handing off a Figma file and hoping for the best. If I design something, I want to see it survive contact with real content, real browsers, and real edge cases, which is a big part of why I never fully specialized in just design or just code.
Teaching sharpened this more than anything else. Explaining why a layout works, out loud, to a room of people who will immediately ask "but what if...", is the fastest way to find out whether you actually understand it or just have good instincts. I still teach for that reason as much as any other.
Off the clock
I'm Dad to Luna and Théo, which reorganizes your priorities faster than any career advice ever will. I run on coffee. Not a figure of speech: ask anyone who's worked with me before 10am.
Sonserina for life, Marvel completionist, deep into Star Wars and Stranger Things, with a genuine soft spot for Ted Lasso. Old-school Cartoon Network still beats most of what's made now, and I will die on that hill.
